        Hi all,

Just opened an account with Ceratizit group tool suppliers to buy a specific item.

Part of the welcome package was a flyer with special offers, onevof which I had to take advantage of.

A mini turning tool set for boring and chamfering.

Look at the list price! Quality is fantastic but one wonders if the offer was too good to be true.

They work well though I just have a few tips and make do for holders, good for undercuts too.

              Hi Barrie,

Yes of course. I was trying to buy a Komet insert for my threading tool holder, but Komet have been absorbed by a larger group and I believe WNT is the parent group of ceratizit.

I dealt with their office in Sheffield and had to register for an account to buy anything.

The flyer included drill sets, er 32 collects etc. So might be something there for you.

              Website is http://www.wnt.com

              Best regards Mick

They are obviously still making a good profit if they can sponsor a womens UCI pro team, been spending a lot in the off season on lots of new signings which seems to have paid off as they won the last round of the world cup.

Several os their parts sponsors use their tooling.

The collets are very good as are the thin parting and grooving tools.

Seems to be only available to companies when I looked. I suppose I could try to invent a company to fill in their form but I'm sure they would show me the door.

                          Doug,

I'm just a hobby engineer and I told them so, I only wanted the one specific tool but had to gauge an account to purchase.

They do make something called a dream drill bit which can drill into surfaces at an angle and curved convex or concave apparently.

Will definitely use them for some things.

You dont nned to be a company they will sell to anyone paying.

Even my wife has an account for getting me Christmas and Birthday presents sometimes.

Just ring up and say if you want to buy something

                            Its the same with MSC

That's interesting Steve, I was put off when I looked at the form on the website where it asked for company details and noted that these details were mandatory. Perhaps it is just easier to phone them to set up an account.

I was given a trade account at a well known DIY chain despite protests that I wasn't in the trade.

The guy signed me up and even invented a company name for my long established joinery firm.

Comes in handy for projects though and my new kitchen cost a lot less than list price.

Just use your initials and put Products after it and you're sorted, verbal order rather than order number deals with paperwork.

Remember to pay though, easy to buy on the tick and feel like a Pelican…. you have an enormous bill.
