So iv been to the Doncaster show this weekend and ordered a Chester V20 milling machine. Im sure at some point i will convert it to cnc as i have all the electronic parts to do so. Is there any one out there that has any information on this conversion ?

There are loads of examples out there, as this is a generic machine. Find out the various other names and models it was sold under and then search for CNC conversions.

Look in places like hobby-machinist and CNC zone. There are hundreds of mini mill conversions out there for this machine.

I have no info on converting one, but I have one which I use regularly and I hope I'm fairly familiar with it. Any help with what you have to start with, message in this direction, I will help if I can

Mick – start here. Seems to be largely the same machine although I'm no expert.

If you are into armchair engineering, there are loads of videos on Youtube too….

You can get most of the electronics and mechanical bits from Aliexpress.

I have a luxcut DM20 which is essentially the same machine

I have done a self built conversion based on robocnc's conversion on their website.

There are some pics in my album. Sing out if you want any info
