              Put details here:-
              http://www.modeleng.org/stolen. They seem to enjoy considerable success in recovery of stolen models. Local paper needs to be told, preferably with photos.

                Stolen seems to have been changed to lost

                main

                lost

                Having some nice photos of your loco to hand to your local rag sounds like a great idea

                They are always interested in interesting easy copy to fill any holes in a publication

                  Plenty of publicity & make it “too hot to handle” and show thief up as the brainless idiot that most criminals are.

                    Hope I'm in the right place;

                    Last night some low life single cell amoeba decided to break into my garage conversion & help themselves to some of my gear, a 6" Mitutoyo digi vernier, a 4" digi vernier from DRO supplies, an air compressor (BT-AC 200/24) with associated tubing, pressure regulator, yellow coiled airline plus long nozzle blow gun, a Macallister 18v cordless drill with two batteries & charger, & to top it all my first project… my double acting oscillating engine.. the one I displayed within MEW last year. It is not worth anything to anyone else but me.. time & effort to produce something nice.

                    There would have been a lot more if my wife had not needed to pay a call & noticed the security light behaving erratically, & looking through lounge window noticed a character in our garage with a torch, we managed to frighten him off by banging & shouting through the wind & calling the police. Loss of tools I can accept & can be replaced, but when you have made something by yourself.. it's a different matter!.. a small thing but mine own.

                    I would ask all members to please keep an eye out for the engine, it may be offered for a small remuneration to members in local areas ( I live in Teesside ) if you are offered any of the above I would like to be reunited with same.. police have been notified, but alas I have my doubts, I have now become one of the burglary statistics Pity we don't have Arab style justice for thieves!.

                    The base had now been given an engine turned (?) appearance since these pics were taken & as you can imagine I am very disheartened at losing my first project, not withstanding some low life invading your home

                    Thanks

                    George

                      Hello George and commiserations. Very sad to hear that your space has been invaded and that your equipment (and lovely engine) has been thieved. I understand how you feel about the loss of your creation – I to would feel truly aggrieved in your position.

                      However, like me you are no spring chicken and having got this far in life I am sure you will be able to put this behind you ASAP and kick start things again. Keep posting!

                      Nil Carborundum George
