I have been using my friends Edgwick model 18 lathe for some years, I have never had any problems with it until just lately when one of the bearing on the lay shaft dropped to bits. next the selector for the power cross slide feed stopped working because there was so much play in the selectors that the ball bearing just fell out so jamming the selector and now the clutch has given up.

I need to find a manual for this lathe can anyone help please.

          Hi Steve,

Have you asked Tony at lathes.co.uk?

            Hi Thor

We tried Lathes UK first but he has nothing that show the inside of the head stock and drive.

                  Hello Brian.

My friend who owns the lathe had spoken to Lathes UK who said they could not help.

We have the lathe working again but it is not right and like my friend said "it is 12ft and 4 tones of cast ion doing nothing"

                    .

                    Steve,

It's wild-guess time … Given that there was a relationship between Edgwick and Holbrook; is this of any relevance question
