Wixey digital angle gauge

I have had a Wixey digital angle gauge for a couple of years with no problems.

Now when I zero it then move it then put it back on the part that it was zeroed on the reading has increased and move it again it keeps increasing on the zeroed part.

I have tried another wixey with no variations,

A new battery was fitted but still readings increased.

Is it a case of bin it or is there anything that can be done to repair it.?

This was a problem with the original models, I swapped mine for a later model as I had that one for less than 12 months.

I took it apart and found a multipin plug and a slack screw.

Pushed the plug in and out then tightened the slack srew.

The gauge is working now it might just have been a bad contact time will see.
