Hi there. I'm hoping someone can help me with the value of a Myford VM-A mill I have. It came with my super Seven and as I have a larger mill I use I don't think I will ever use it. Also a very good friend of mine had expressed an interest in it. I don't want to over charge him but at the same time I don't want to undersell it because it really is very nice indeed. He has suggested that I put it on Ebay and he will buy it if he feels it's the "right money" but won't tell me what that it for fear of insulting me.

I had the heavy cast receiver that bolted to the bed of the super 7 but it also has the original table so it can be used as a stand alone mill and without the lathe slides. I have never seen one of these for sale and it looks a real proper bit of kit. It has never been in industry and has only ever been used at home.

        Any ideas?

        thanks

        Jason

One sold on ebay last year for £900+. As usual, much more than its worth.

Thanks for that. I have just taken a look on Ebay at past sales and have found that one. It looks like it never had the large cast part that bolts the to drip tray and never had the table to allow it to be used as a stand alone mill either. Also the condition was obviously well used. I now think the VM-A is worth twice what I think my mate would be happy paying so I have to look at other options. The more I think about it, the work I do on a mill could be done on this Myford. I think I will either have to keep it and sell the Bridgeport, but moving that heavy old beast will be my biggest problem. Or I could stick the VM-A on Ebay. I'll stick it in the corner and chew it over for 5 years as normal….
