Explanation and Appology

Good afternoon to all.

Firstly I must issue a full and frank appology for what has been posted on this account. My son has severe Autism and does things he really shouldn't without understanding the consequences. One of my neighbours deals in machine tools and mentioned to my son that he was struggling to sell some machines.

My son took it upon himself to help sell them and took control of my neighbour's personal and business email addresses which is where some of the information posted has come from. It came to light this morning when my neighbour received a message about things posted on this account because he recognised some of the information.

I'm sure you can all understand the difficult position that this has left me in. I can only hope that this doesn't damage his buisiness in any way because what has been said does not represent his business practise.

Again I am deeply sorry for what has been said on here over the last few days and I have made sure it won't happen again. I ask the moderators to remove any previous postings made on this account and any quoted sections.

Thank you all for reading this and I hope this is an end to the matter. I will change the password on this account so he can't access it ever again. Could someone direct me to where I do this?

If you go to the green bar along the top of the page and click "Settings" this will take you to a page headed "my details" just below that you can click "my account" which will take you towhere the password can be changed.

Jason, thank you for helping I have now done this.

Can I ask the membership here to keep a look out on any other engineering forums they may visit because I'm very worried this isn't an isolated incident. My neighbour has informed me of two other forum registraions in his deleted folder but nothing had yet been posted.

I hope your son appreciates that we bear him no ill-will as a result of this.

Neil, thank you and also Jason for being so understanding.

When my son has calmed down about losing his computer I will be having a very long talk to him about responsibilty and why what he has done is wrong.

My neighbour has been understanding but is still furious about having his emails hacked. He's changing all his passwords and network keys to prevent any possibility of my son getting access again as am i.
