Hi i am Ian .I am aclock restorer with an md65 hobbymat lathe as well as a watchmakers lathe .My problem is that one relay has burn out on the MD 65 does anyone know where to get a replacement .They are blue and about 1.250 square and about .625 thick. I believe they are double poll double throw . My knowledge of electronics is very limited so any help and advice would be appreciated .

            Ian,

Pictures of the offending item might help identify the relay especially if it has any numbers printed on it….

                Hi Ian

There is a description of 40 series relays that have a similar numbering system here. It may be a point to start to see if you can identify the correct unit. A good source of components that I use is CPC which come under the Farnell group.

                Hope this helps.

                Martin

Edit: Do you know why the contacts have melted, is it down to old age or something more serious?

Hi . Thanks Martin for the information about the relays.I will try and get some from where you suggested. If they work. I shall let anyone else with an md65 know what they are. As to why they melted it is probably old age as I bought it in1990 never had a problem till now. One or two of my bits and pieces are in much the same state. ian
