      Thanks for everything Ketan,

ARC were always my preferred place to buy “stuff”. Great service, quality products and sensible prices – ARC will be missed by the model engineering world. Shame no one was willing to buy the company.

Currently putting together my last order…

Enjoy your retirement – I can recommend it…!

      All the best

      Derek

        Hi Ketan,

        Happy retirement!

I’ll certainly miss ARC, as a go to supplier. (Not sure the wife will feel the same!)

Sad to see “our” side of the business go, and I have been one of your customers, but do have a very happy retirement, Ketan.

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes.

My team and I are very grateful for this communities support over the years.

Winding down, given the value of stock we still have, along with sale of assets could take some time, possibly three to six months.

My main concern was to address the reason why we are ‘out of stock’ for certain products/range as mentioned in my opening post.

              Thank you, Ketan at ARC.

Can’t begrudge a man wanting to retire but certainly a shame if there is no buyer or successor for a profitable business.

What will happen to support for machines already sold – spares, manuals, parts lists etc? Will this aspect be handed on to a competitor or outsourced to the community?

I’ve been a very satisfied customer for 17 years Ketan (as have my sons, in terms of many Birthday & Christmas presents for their poor old Dad!) – so I am very sad to hear that you are closing down. I hope you enjoy your well earned retirement for many more years to come.

However, as the (soon to be) new owner of a Seig Mill I’ve just purchased from ARC (albeit at a very good discount) can I ask what warrenty arrangements (if any) there will be going forward please?

                    Regards,

                          Hi Adrian R2,

Waiting to hear from certain competitors to see who may be interested to take over the spares. Looking at it, the spares section of SIEG is a good ‘side’ business in itself. That is how Little Machine Shop started with SIEG – back in the day, without selling machines.

A lot of the spares are interchangeable between SIEG, CLARK – Machine Mart, Axminster. At the same time, certain spares are interchangeable within the SIEG machines range, so inventory does not need to be high.

What we have in stock for spares could be sold off as a complete lot (at a discounted price) to a potential buyer willing/wishing to run a SIEG spares department. Such a person/company could/would then be introduced to SIEG by me, to discuss future supplies.

Outsourcing to the community is also an option. Would need to work out how this would work.

Happy to discuss via personal message or direct email to ARC.

                          Thank you,

                          Ketan at ARC

Oh dear, that’s a real shame. Arc are one of very few model engineering suppliers that I use. The big question is where are we going to get the excellent Tomé Fèteira files now?

I wish Ketan a happy retirement; I can thoroughly recommend it.
