I need assistance identifying some collets, these are off a Myford Super 7 but think the chuck is modified for the job.

The collets have what looks to be an S or a 5 with and A overlaid ??

Some dimensions would help though

Body diameter & thread pitch perhaps.

Michael, it looks like they are 12mm and .125 pitch (m12 metric fine). All imperial sizes ..i wonder if they are european ?

Well if the 'A' could also be a 'V' (seen from the other side), then it would be Schaublin. Possibly W20?

I think after a few mins on a search engine that they are W20 Schaublin thank you Michael and Hans

For clarity: SA is part of the company name, rather than a particular collet type

[except to say that it looks 'dead length rather than 'draw-in]

Ian, it looks like a collet from a Marlco indexer used extensively on milling machines in the 1960's and earlier for sure. John

Philip I think they may be Boxford, have a look on http://www.lathes.co.uk for Boxford lathe accessories and look at the collets, they are a small version of 5C collets — can't recall the number ??? I had a set some time back from a machine that was scrapped where I worked, always intended to "do something" with them but flogged them on the well known site – had them maybe 50 years in the store !
