Things we learned 60 years ago and haven’t used for 55 years. “ne <verb> pas ” is the French negative construction. However sometimes to improve the flow of speech the ‘pas’ gets left out. See also the famous song “Non. Je ne regrette rien”.

I’ve never even thought about wall art in a workshop, but machine tools I think look better in original or close colours, bright machine tools look a bit gaudy imo.

Your lathe looks like ral 6011 reseda green which is a nice colour, paragon paints has lots of period correct machinery colours, this greyish blue colour I painted my union t&c grinder isn’t original but pretty close, just try not to paint machined surfaces and over screws and bolts, it looks terrible and is a hindrance especially gib adjusting screws etc I don’t know why people do this it’s like painting the face of a hammer.

I do like bright automotive handtools though it helps to stop losing them in an engine bay.

I have an icon of St. Anthony which gets moved around the workshop according to need.
I think he helps me to lose things on the floor and seems to fall over occasionally.
I am starting to wonder if I might manage without him.

Oh, I think you may be blaming your 13C namesake for the doings of the gremlins:

            St. Anthony of Padua…

” …. especially invoked and venerated all over the world as the patron saint for the recovery of lost items and is credited with many miracles involving lost people, lost things and even lost spiritual goods.”
