I have a Startrite 12-S-1 vertical bandsaw (I think also known as "Bandit&quot and I want to change the blade guide insert in the table (made of brass or copper). Can anybody tell me how it is held in please, before I start stripping it down? Thanks.

Think you might find the guides aremade of cast iron, some users fit rollers instead, ie., ball races. don't know about the lower guide, but you will see it when you remove the brass(I think) plate that fits around the blade (you take it out to tilt the table). Ian S C
