Been buying selling and colecting old tools for a few years, had problems with things getting lost and broken it the past using cheep couriers so now have been using one of the big ones, however when sone of the more expencive ones get to tamworth they sit thery for a day or two, then they get to there final desternation the box is ok and get signed for but lacking the contence. There is either a black hole in tamworth or i am forgeting to put the items in the box and my scales must be wrong.

This is costing me hundreds of pounds as i am forced to give refunds and i can not put in a clame as the boxes are arriving intact. At first i thought i was being robbed by the people buying the tools, not i think its down to the tamworth black hole. Talking to the collection driver today said lots of things go missing at tamworth, and very little elsware! Anyhow this is the end of my hobby now as i am loosing to much money.

Not many will take things over 15kg and up to about 40kg for under £15.00 plus some of the lathes i have bought off the internet have turned out to be a scam. When you pay with paypal and pick up yourself you do not have paypal proction as i have just found out.

I would have a word with your local Trading Standards Office, last time I used them the initial route seemed to be via Citizens Advice.

Anyway it should be on your Council Website or phone book.

There is always the BBC Watchdog programme as well.

To be honest if I pickup anything at all I pay cash on the spot.

Without shipping theres no one else for paypal to charge for the loss. nor any proof that you failed to recieve it.

No legitimate seller will allow PayPal for a collection, they are wide open to being scammed. The only exception might be for cars, where change of ownership is easier to show

If I had a persistent problem with a courier, I would get a trusted third party to photograph and witness the contents of a few 'trial' parcels.

                      Good evening Paul,

Send them a box of ready primed rat traps, or a couple of adders, that'll keep them occupied! If anyone then complains, then it's oops, so that's were that box went!

There're loads of bandits out there and they'll try anything.

                      Regards

                      Bob

                        Paul,

I'm coming into this discussion rather late, but … Have you thought of using 'Tamper Evident Tape' to seal your boxes ? **LINK**

… any reasonable customer should refuse to accept a parcel if it shows evidence of tampering; and it should at least give you some hope of making a successful claim.

My fault things went missing i should have sent them next day delivery then they would have been on the move all the time and not left overnight in a warehouse were things can vanish into the darkness

                            Paul,

You beat me to it. I was going to say I always use next day delivery couriers just so the goods are not hanging around, but more or less go from one van across the warehouse into another van.

                            Costs more but worth it.

Am I missing something? Your goods are being knocked off while in the possession of the shipping company and you guys are blaming yourselves? Sort of the victims blaming the victims?
