And much better than mine at £620 if you pay in one payment, a lot more if you choose to pay for 6 months or by any other method than debit card and that’s for a ‘mild-hybrid’ too. I really object to subsidising other road users, whose cars are probably on the roads much more than mine ever is and cause the same amount of ‘wear and ‘tear’ on the tarmac, in the name of contributing to ‘net zero’.

Yes, I am fortunate enough to be able to afford a used car that was over £40k when new and to able to pay that amount of road tax for its first 5 years of life, but that doesn’t change the unfairness of the tax regime. A differential in car tax rates might be more acceptable if wasn’t so very unfair on those for whom an electric car is totally unsuitable or undesirable.

We are being told that due to economic circumstances UK tax revenues overall are falling, including road tax, and that the government may have to raise other tax rates to compensate. I wonder how many £20 a year road tax payers will start squealing if their income tax or VAT is raised or tax allowances reduced, PSA and ISA etc., to make up for this shortfall in road tax revenue. Just a thought!

Hi MichaelG, I feel for your cost, but I’ve only got a humble 2016 Astra Estate. I don’t have to do the mileage I used to though.

        Regards Nick.

Hi Chris, I understand your argument, I was looking for the newest car I could get at the time I bought the one I have, but if I’d have got even a 2017 of any make, the road tax would be £195 at least, which I do think is unfair, but we all have our own budgets on these matters. The one I do have, was a very nice price with a below average mileage, and in really good condition, I had to travel a good distance to view it, and I got the cost of having it delivered after they had done a service on it, in exchange for my old one, which I was very happy about.

            Regards Nick.

Have you actually contacted the hospital about this?

Yes I contacted them on Friday morning at their Head office, who have not responded. Then in the afternoon I contacted the hospital with a view to enquire what their parking charges are. Long story short is we should have booked our car in on some smart device in reception.

As I told the receptionist I was not looking for such things when it is listed on the website as Free Parking. There is no proviso “Provided you book your car in”. Plus I did not have to do this a couple of years previous when I visited before, so again I am not looking for such things.

There is no signage in the car-park (Dashcam), saying I am required to book my car in. Neither was there anything easily visible on the way to, or in the reception area. Nor were we asked if we had booked our car in. The receptionist was more concerned with fixing the coffee machine.

              Regards

              Gray,

My 2.5 ton 2l petrol 4WD SUV goes up to £10 next year. It was £0 this year because it was registered before April but you still have to fill the form in. It is of course a Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle.
                  🙂

Anyone know what this type is supposed to do?

It was sent as an ordinary e-post (ending “@outlook.com”) with no links or attachment. I have blocked the sender and reported it to both bt and the gov.uk “phishing” reporting services.

I don’t of course have a web-site so don’t have web-site errors. Nor a business, come to that.

                    Hi,

I hope you have a nice day.

I wanted to reach out after reviewing your website. It’s very well done, but I noticed a few errors that could benefit from your attention to improve Google rankings and support your online business growth.

If you’d like a complimentary report with screenshots highlighting these issues, just reply “YES,” and I’ll send it to you!

                    Best Regards,
                    Talia
