      Hi All.

Just bought a second hand No.9. I`m very happy with it as its all there including pump and governor. There are a few fixings missing but they are not a problem but the governor has a ball missing and possibly other parts. Just wondering if anybody has the governor drawing to double check a few things?

            Thanks Bill.

I was hoping not to have to buy a copy as all the machined parts are done.Ill see if I can upload a photo and maybe somebody can id any missing parts.

Main engine drawings are unlikely to have the governor shown, at least if they are like all the other stuart drawings. You get a separate drawing when you buy the governor castings.

Best to post a photo as the older No9 governor was not the same as that fitted to the beam, victoria or newer No9 engines.

The photos here will blow up large enough to read and show the earlier No9 specific governor, bit more searching will find similar images for the bits of teh drawing not shown in my link.

                Thanks Jason.

could be my engine is an older one as the valve chest doesn't have the Stuart "S", not necessarily the case though. I've not taken my own photos yet but there are a few on the original eBay listing… 184188235279

                    Thanks Bill.

that is very handy, but unfortunately I have a part missing. The bar going from the steam inlet to the governor. I've been looking at item 2100, would you call that an old type governor or new? Looks the same as mine.

Not spoken to Andy yet but they do sell a machined kit so parts will be available, that's providing mine isn't the old type.

The one in your e-bay listing is the old style governor, newer one shave pairs of flat brass plates either side, old style have the Tee shaped top.

From the link i posted earlier this is the rod that joins the governor arm to the valve arm

It also look like you are a ball short too

Well, I didn't like to publicly make a big deal about the missing dangly bit but seeing it in black and white on a drawing means I have to acknowledge it 😁

Seriously though, those close ups will come in really handy as I've basically got a non runner at the moment.

Should be able to test run it without the governor, just operate the butterfly valve on the valve chest cover by hand.

                                  Now this is handy….

well it would be if I could figure out how to add photos.
