Source for wiper felt

Just to resurrect my thread, I have found another source of what looks like just the stuff – Boots Self-Adhesive Thick Padding (Provides relief for Corns, Calluses and Bunions). Less than a fiver for a piece about 220mm by 100mm and 7mm thick, the self adhesive layer is fairly easily split off.

I tried the thick hard felt you can get from b&q to stick on the bottom of furniture. I laser cut to shape very nicely but after a few days the oil I was hoping to retain turned the self adhesive backing to mush and they came off. Need to make a screw on metal retaining plate next time.

Yes that's good stuff G. C. I use it also for making felt grease seals for vintage motorcycle hub bearings.

If you don't want it too thick, get a felt hat from a charity shop.
