just seen this sent to me by a friend, I can't seem to get to the bottom of it but it does look like the old pedal driven lathe is no longer safe from electronic control.

Bizarre. An electronic gadget to do what the turner used to do by looking at the job and judging by eye how the chips were flowing and whether to speed up or slow down the pedaling. So now you NEVER have to engage your brain. Guess that suits the Twitterati.

I think this is kinda neat actually, as it is mounted on the founder's lathe. Pointless, sure, but as far as a trade show demo, miles ahead of "booth babes" handing out shiny papers with words like "facilitating" and "partnering".
