Backplate studs

I need to make 6 backplate studs for a couple of my chucks. Now somewhere I had a list of suitable material for making various bits and piece, but I seem to have lost it (Old age can’t remember where it is LOL)

Can someone point me in the direction of a list or let me know which steel would be best.

Personally I would check my pile of bolts to see if I had any that could be re-purposed. I seem to have accumulated lots that I am never likely to use for their original purpose.

Thank you guys, I have not got many bolts but plenty of wood screws, not much use as bolts. I will have a rummage through my cupboards as I have just ordered some metal.
