This is a well-made Smart & Brown 9" Sabel Metal Lathe (A copy of the South Bend 9-inch Workshop Lathe). It's got a single phase 0.5hp 240v motor. I've had this for about 25 years but only occasionally use it to turn small brass finials and knobs. It's clean, working order and has various speeds and the ability to cut screw-threads. It's old, but well made and still has many years use ahead of it. I've had the wiring updated to ensure it's safe to use. There is some tooling with it and a knurling tool that I used to use - there's probably enough to get you started with common projects. It's ideal for the model maker. This lathe is the equivalent to the Boxford lathes and Myford 7 lathes. This lathe is heavy as it's cast iron but it will dismantle and fit in an estate car - however, you would do better to bring a van to save dismantling it.
