          Hello Abdur,

It would help us a lot if you could give a little more information, any markings might be useful and a picture or two would be invaluable; there were a number of models in the days when Zytos were popular that looked somewhat similar.

          Regards

          Brian

This address is on your own machine.

For others to see it, you need to create an Album on this forum; post the picture there; then insert it using the little black camera icon [on the top bar of the post editing pane]

                        …Hope that helps

                                Hello Abdur

There were a number of very similar lathes made around the time of your machine that all look very much alike. Possibly made up from a small range of standard parts or probably direct copies of each other.

One that looks very similar to your lathe was marketed by Gamages and appears on the well known lathes.co.uk website **LINK** have a look down towards the bottom of the page linked to. The distinctive feature would seem to be the pronounced cast in "bead" around the curves of the side of the bed. Other lathes show similar raised beads but nowhere near as noticeable.

P.S. I have a RandA one which is similar, but has the added benifit of screw cutting. http://www.model-engineer.co.uk/albums/member_photo.asp?a=12754&p=509767
