Brian, could you not make up your own dummy pipe work and valves etc?I have made quite a few in the past, they were fairly straight forward to do especially if working from photos.

Mark, It's the white metal castings that I really need. The parts that were on the model are very semi scale.

Time is another issue.

I was looking at a Brittania at the show in Doncaster. It had steam operated cylinder drains fitted. Does anyone have plans or information that would help me make them?

Ok. So the engine is all back together and now has a boiler cert. I have only run it once and I sure am looking forward to running again. The first run showed I need a few small changes and modifications.

It is basically the same as original supply from Winson, so now I can look at making changes to details and mechanical parts. The first thing I would like to sort out is the bacon slicer forward and backward mechanism. I have no way of telling what position the valve timing is when running. The Hewson one is fairly expensive so I would like to make my own, by fabrication. The one fitted is a big chunk of brass. When I looked at one at Doncaster on a 5" brit the other week it was smaller and had graduation marks on the smaller wheel so you knew where the gear was set.

Does anyone have drawings or know where I can buy them from?
