I have been going through the Q1 articles, and did note that there were some changes/corrections/improvements over the course of the series.
Is there a central location for these? I checked Alan Stepney's site, but did not see any thing there.

As well as those in the "southern Q1" topic heading you also want to have a look at the "drawings errors & corrections" heading as it crops up in there as well.
There is also the possibility that it may be covered in an issue specific query eg "4402 drawing errors" or something worded like that.
Unfortunately the errors for this and any of the other subjects have not been grouped into one place.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can anyone tell me which issue had the drawings for the coupling in - and what the cover picture is? I'm assuming anyone building Q1 will have them easily to hand - mine are lost in a BIG pile.

Hi Neil, What your looking for is in VOL204 No4375 9-22APRIL 2010. It has a marine steam power plant on the cover.

Hello to John and all Q1 builders,
Jason B is spot on, the right place to look is on this website under the drawing errors and corrections heading.
As it's almost a year since the last article was published and not many errors have come to light, then I'm assuming there were no major ones dropped that I didn't know about. The location of the pivot point for the Joy gear slideshaft is listed under the above, this is a critical and may well need adjusting by trial and error anyway, this was also the case on full size locos with this valve gear.
I have put revision numbers on all my drawings so that the latest ones can be identified, if purchased from Polly, I don't think there were any significant alterations since the articles were published.
As always with model loco drawings prepared by enthusiastic amateurs rather than professional companies, it pays to check items as you go. I hope to get a final review done on the second Q1 which is now almost complete. There is a sequence of construction and assembly for the cladding and smokebox which is worth passing on since the Q1 is a bit 'unusual'.

If you look at 'Bolier Bushes' you will find some amendments to the Q1 bush thread sizes and more importantly to the requlator steam fitting bush on the front tube plate. This needs to be 22dia not 18dia.
