I have now completed the steel painted tender body 'stuck' together with polyurethane mastic. this will be described in the magazine in due course. The aim is to use steel instead of brass to save cost and enable people without welding/brazing/silver soldering facilities to assemble a tender. Soft soldering mild steel is tricky and requires careful removal of flux to avoid corrosin later on. Heat processes are prone to cause some distortion as shown by the brazed tender made previously.
The part built loco with chassis, cab, smokebox and cab will also be on show, on the Polly stand as usual.
I hope to attend on Sunday.
