8 forum posts | I have been browsing the site and like others have decided to put my head above the wall so to speak. I have plans and castings for ETW’s “Wallaby” and would like to build the 1831 locomotive to put it in! I believe that ETW had articles on the building of the loco in ME but I have not managed to source any relevant information so would be extremely grateful to anyone who could furnish any copies of the pertinent articles. I hope you are all are staying safe from the weather and the dreaded covid!

422 forum posts 33 photos | Hi Ray, what part of Qld are you in? I'm in Ipswich. There's a few other ex-pats and natural Aussies involved in this forum too so expect the usual light-hearted banter at times, particularly around Ashes test time (we won't mention the second test in Adelaide which finished today!) There are a couple of other people on this forum also interested in the 1831 and a mate of mine in Ipswich is building a Wallaby too but just out of interest in the engine itself, not to go in a loco. I'm building a 5-inch gauge petrol-powered Qld Railways DL loco (some photos in my album) which is nearly complete but has had some reliability issues during testing so is currently having a heart transplant. Hope you find what you need for your 1831. Geoff P. |

8 forum posts | Hi Geoff, I am up in central Queensland near Gladstone. The wallaby is a “slow build” as I am having to use my father in laws lathe while I search for a suitable second hand one. There is certainly more choice in the UK regarding used machinery than here! You will have to post more images of your DL loco Ray |
