The USB type come without a power supply, of course, and I have only used the ones with a round base and included PSU in the workshop; they are readily adapted to machine use:

I'll be buying one of these in the near future, or the one from Warco, both very similar in design and price, look well made, transformer in the base, head isn't too bulky, personally I'd go for the screwed base as it can be manipulated one handed without fear of things falling whilst the machine is moving.

pretty well priced for what you get.
