....It is easily repaired,....just bung it in the scrap and make a new wheel!...........(note cracked spokes!)

Never mind the flange, which could be built up with weld and re-turned , the spokes at 1 and 2 o'clock look to be cracked at the root.

Could be turned down and a new ‘tire’ shrink fitted. But what about the other wheel on that axle (and all the rest, for that matter)?

I’m not considering buying it so I’m not going to worry about it, for sure.

Dropped at some point I would guess.

What is the model - are the wheel castings still available?

Hi, you could clean the wheel in a ultrasonic cleaner and probably fill the cracked spokes with brazing and then as NDIY fit a new tyre by shrinking or using some high strength cylindrical retaining compound, which would be easier if the wheel is not too difficult to remove, or like Bob has said, fit a new wheel, but failing every thing else, if you have the skill, making a completely new wheel set would probably make it an economical repair. Like NDIY, I'm not going to buy it, so it won't bother me either.

Regards Nick.

Pansy 0-6 0 G W R Pannier tank in 5 inch gauge.

Wheel casting is available from Reeves at about £36.

I like the comment at the bottom of the ad

"Condition is "Used" but like new. As far as I can work out it has never seen daylight!"

Probably why it got dropped then, someone tripped over with it in the dark.

It would be a shame to spend time and money on the repair only to find more damage afterwards.

If I was listing it, I would be honest and say that it could be repaired by an expert.
