hi, i am on the lookout for some 1/32" 16tpi square thread left and right hand, if not then tooling so i can make them, is there anyone that maybe able to help. Many thanks. Brian

At 1/32" dia. you are in the region of 16BA I doubt you'll get square threads at that size. I have known to be wrong

I don't want to burst your bubble, but that diameter, 1/32 inch, will not be able to contain a square form 16 TPI thread, there will be no metal left .

More like 60tpi than 16.

Hi all, sorry the diameter is 1/4" the tpi is 16, it is being used on an Britannia locomotive

Hello Brian (what a good name you have), I once needed to make a length of 1/4" X 16 tpi 2 start for the steering on a Clayton Steam Waggon. I made it out of silver steel, slightly longer that needed and made the end into a tap, hardened and tempered and cut off after being used to tap the bronze nut.

Similar here when I needed it for the Fowler brake screw, I just ground up a 1/32" wide tool and screw cut it on the lathe and while the tool was in place cut another from silversteel which was then made into a tap. If I did it again I would make the tap longer.
