Accessing Digital archive

I have subscribed to the £1 for three issue Print + Digital.

I have succeeded in being able to read the current issue on my iPad

I would like to be able to read the Digital Archive on my Desktop Computer.

I have completed my Profile here: "https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/members/details.asp" using the subscriber number that the helpful lady gave me when I paid.

But when I click "Magazines" in the Green Bar, the computer tells me:

"Sorry, this is Subscriber-only content...'

That is the subscription number on the cover sheet with the copy of Model Engineers' Workshop magazine that arrived today.

I should be most grateful if somebody would kindly tell me the telephone number of whoever can tell me how to access the digital archive.

Further to previous, I have tried again and entered details on the "https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/members/join.asp" page.

I completed the form and a page appeared which read:

Member Account Created

We have just sent you an email to confirm your registration; please click the link to validate your account and marketing preferences. Please make sure that you check your junk mail and add us to your safe senders list so that you do not miss out!

However, no email has arrived. It is NOT in the JUNK mailbox

I repeated the process, the same screen appeared but no validation message

Please let me have the name and contact details of somebody who can resolve this impasse.

I think half the problem is that you have several user names. Just look at your two posts above and you are firstly MC Black2 and then MC Black. I think you also have a third one

Check which one you have entered your details for and then login to that account. E-mail address which you also have three of and other details need to be the same here as you used for the subscription.

What username did you use on your ipad and was that viewing via this site or via Pocketmags.

I did NOT know that I have more than one log in

How can I find out what details are held about me?

I need to talk to somebody about this because all this is making me VERY depressed

As I said you need e-mail on here to be the same as you subscribed with. Go to Settings at top left of green bar at the top of the page then select my account. Change the e-mail address there to the .....................walks.co.uk one you used for your subscriptions and see if that works. Do this while logged in as "MC Black2"

Suggest you also check that e-mail address for any confirmation e-mails.

I am also having problems .. I can’t get the archive and the instructions given do not follow what I see in the pocketmags and model engineer app for my iPad I have entered my subscription number in settings here but still no joy.
what am I doing wrong?

the email confirming my subscription payment (done direct from this website) says another will follow.  That has not yet happened

When did you take out the subscription? It can take a few days for the confirmation e-mail to arrive (check spam folder) and then you have to wait for the first issue of your subscription.

Also check you have entered the subs number correctly, I can't get what you have entered to show up but that may be due to it being a very new subscription.

Ah thanks. Two days ago, but Iv had to change log in details and account details so it matches... I may have got things seriously mixed up I think. So I will wait a couple more days then get back to you.

When are we going to be able to print pages on pocketmags. I see that engineering in miniature already have the facility. If Me and ME Workshop are not going to enable this feature they should make their intention clear so that customers can decide if to subscribe to the digital service.

I would be interested in other peoples views on the matter

I think it's essential to be able to print pages from the magazine

I want to be able to print drawings and take them into my workshop.

I do NOT have a computer in my workshop and looking at the drawing on screen makes it difficult to add notes with a pencil.

Another problem is the need for Java (whatever that is) which is incompatible with my system, it seems.

Can't give an official answer but it's only a couple more clicks to snip the image of the page and print to paper or PDF. from either Pocketmags or website archive.

OK but it gives an inferior copy of the page. When will an official answer but given?

I'm afraid this is a problem with an update to the Pocketmags reader. It's not a policy change.

They assure us that they are trying to fix it for the next update.

I can let you have details of the accounts if you send me an email with the details of the emails you have or may have used to set up accounts and your address so I can check if it matches the profile.

Obviously there may be accounts set up by people with similar names that aren't you, so I can't just send anything down as M Black in case it's someone else's account.

Think I sorted MC Blacks problem as it was 8 months ago, the ME accounts were all for the same person as other details matched

Although the registration problem was solved, I have NOT been able to view the Archive using my computer because the two are, in some way, incompatible.

I can look at the archive using my iPad but there's no way that I can print from my iPad.

My iPad and my computer can NOT communicate. If anybody believes that he or she may be able to tell me how to do that, please send a UK telephone number and I'll ring so that I can be talked through it.

I would suggest you have a very close look at the e-mail that your computer is using by default when you login, mainly the first three letters as one option will log you in as MC Black and the other as MC Black1

I have no problem on my PC opening MEW when I log in as MC Black

Sorted now, the two superfluous accounts have been locked to prevent accidental logins.

Thanks to Mr. Wyatt's advice both here and OFF-LIST, I have been able to access the digital archive.

But printing pages is still a problem.
