Wow, in-camera stacking is new to me too, although my phone has the ability to do the opposite.

A spare 'depth camera' allows you to selectively blur the background to make foreground images 'pop'.

Thanks for that Bill (and members). Very revealing indeed.

The Gavin Hoey clip was most informative too.

Just resurrecting this thread to mention a programme currently on the BBC iPlayer :

Episode One of ‘The Great Barrier Reef’ [first broadcast in 2012]

The underwater macro work is quite astonishing.

Utilising my spare DTI. Got my portable macro rail and made it into a more precise device to be able to take 10 microns shots for extreme macro photography using Helikon Focus stacking. I made a rigid set up adding milled aluminium attachment I made.

Thanks Michael. Been super busy in the hospital. We are in a very bad situation as compared to the first event.

Hope I can restart my macro photography again. Found this spare DTI and make it into good use.

Keep well Raphael.

I remember your posts during the first wave lockdown and I remember comparing your apparently dire situation with my retired and isolating one. I wondered whether we would hear from you again or whether your posts would just stop, and we would be left to guess the worst.

Good to hear you are still with us.

Permit me please, another broadening of the topic:

We watched ‘My Octopus Teacher’ on Netflix

This is a wonderful story; beautifully told and exquisitely photographed

... I was captivated
