I have been asked by eminent Scottish railway historian, Ann Glen, whether anyone might have available a clockwork mechanism for a Bassett-Lowke Pecket-type locomotive (Gauge 1). Her father bought the little loco in the 1930s and it was much played with until he decided to attemp a conversion to electric. This wasn't successful but sadly the clockwork mechanism was thrown away. Ann would like to return it to its original condition. If anyone has any suggestions as to where a suitable mechanism might be obtained I'd be delighted to hear of it.

I think the term is 'bump'!
If there's nothing forthcoming, can anyone suggest another line of enquiry?

It’s not directly helpful, but this might trigger some memories: **LINK**
Edit: I can’t imagine a surviving example of that motor being an inexpensive purchase.

At the start of the indoor model section at the annual Lincolnshire Steam rally which is held in August , there's normally a chap with stall selling all manor of Meccano parts , including clockwork motors , which may be capable of being adapted . Although I don't have any contact details for him , maybe the show organisers , or even the local model engineering club , who also attend will .have.
Another option would be the Meccano Guild .
Meccanoman has a number of clockwork motors for sale .
Hope this all helps.
