I've received the following message to forum members from Roger Warren:
Due to the risk of spreading the coronavirus we have decided to postpone our Open Day planned for 14th March. We are in an area of high risk, Haslemere which has featured in the press in the last few days is four miles away. As some of you will know, our showroom is packed to capacity on the day, the close proximity of so many members of the public could be a risk of contamination, especially in this region.
Our list of ex. demo/used/shop soiled machines will go on line as usual closer to the planned date of 14th. The list is impressive. Orders for these machines can be placed over the phone during the working week, which is Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5 pm and on Friday, 8.30am to 4.30 pm.
When the coronavirus risk has subsided we will arrange an alternative Open Day. Thank you for your understanding.

I was looking forward to that and even had the date pencilled in, being polite today so I shall just say oh bother!

|Haslemere has one of the areas hospitals specialising in rehab of stroke victims (I got to know it well during the several month's of a friends rehab) and also those with serious degenerative but non infectious illnesses - one of the worst possible place to be contaminated.|

2000 old duffers all packed together in the same confined space may not be a good idea at the moment

That's a shame but understandable in the circumstances. Last Saturday we had a gathering of over 100,000 Spanish Catalan independentists about 10 km from here. Total madness!

I think they've done the sensible thing, and hope that they have a successful "event" in spite of the current difficulties.
Just noticed that the "Used Machinery Sale" list is now up on their website, for any that are interested;

Good move and thankfully they are going to re schedule . Just had the F1 cancelled here and the cost is in the millions but the decision is right - should have been called a week ago before the track was set up , i truly feel sorry for those who have spent a lot of money for accommodation as it won't be refundable.

I don't understand all this. Can common-sense really be winning out against the almighty dollar?
