I just downloaded the free to MEW readers pdf manual, the one that normaly costs £11.50. It is in my Dowmloads folder under the name of ATOM but there is no pdf file extension and my Foxit reader does not recognise it never mind opening it. If I click on the open box, by default it tries to open it with Windows media player but nothing happens. Can any one offer me any help on this please?

My copy downloaded as a PDF .. Yor PC might not be showing the extension - What does Right Click Properties show? If it has no extension the try renaming it adding a pdf extension i.e. Atom.pdf

Double click to read and/or right click it and select Open With and select your PDF reader.

Where have you found this manual. I can only find the free tutorial videos or the Exercise Manual.

Have you got a link James, I've not seen one selling for £11.50

There is the readily available Atom 3D Exercise Manual but that is free

Sometimes browsers can chop off the file extension (or even change it) on download.

Are you sure that file extension isn't just hidden (this is default in Win10) ?

Do you have something installed that can read PDF files? Win10 by default will try to use Microsoft Reader or Edge. What software is set to be default for PDF files? Maybe install the free Adobe Reader.

People who registered the trial, should have had a email with a code to get a copy for free. (A link was also provided)

Go to here look unter the Atom 3D section - Its listed as the Tutorial (What appeared in MEW)

I never received an email to get a free copy. It would be very handy.

I have bought Atom3D but would like the tutorial in print.

The offer of the PDF version at no charge was only sent to those in UK who had registered the MEW 6 month extended trial of Atom3D (which should have limited it to those who had purchased the magazines).

If you didn't receive and believe you should have, I suggest that you take that up with Mintronics.

Quick email to Lesley at Mintronics and had the link and code to download back in couple of minutes.

File now downloaded. Much easier to read than the MEW as the screen prints are much larger. My old eyes struggled with the screen prints in the MEW version.

Excellent service from Mintronics.

Hi All,

Very many thanks for your responses and kind help. Thanks to Steambuff for the solution. I just renamed the file by adding ".pdf" to it and it now opens with Foxit Reader. I'm running Win 7.

Just to correct an error the price on Mintronics website is £11.99. I accessed their website ( Click on Home page / Alibre Atom 3D / Overview / Scroll down untill you find Alibre Atom3D tutorials (Digital download) . As you go thro the purchase process you get the chance to enter your discount code which you may have received by email. This makes it free of charge, and then complete the purchase process.

This tutorial is the reprint of the the articles in MEW but the images are larger and adjacent to the relevent text. It is not the one which features a universal joint on a base plate.

Really appreciate your help. Best regards. Nick
