A hardinge toolroom lathe has popped up on Ebay for £1400 and it's in Sheffield.

Looks to be in very good condition.

I had set my heart on an HLV but private sellers are few & far between, dealers obviously want top dollar, that one is tempting.frown

Yeah it’s definitely been given a lick over, but at that age hardly surprising, don’t think i would buy without seeing first though.

The 'new' rack doesn't look all that new...

The cateract style lathes are interesting historically, but not an HLV or HLV-H

Even with problems with the leadscrew/ nut it's good value a friend had a new leadscrew made for his Colchester at £260 pounds so add that to the lathe ,good value, the taper turning is worth £250 on its own I purchased one some two years ago
