Does anyone happen to know the weight of an Excel Die Filer. Can it be lifted by one man.

Thanks,

Colin

Hi colin. The bench top model is a hefty machine but quite easy to lift single handed. I sold mine a few months ago and it easily fitted in the back of my saloon car.

I have a floor mounted Brevettata model now that weighs a few hundred kilos. Its staying put as I cant shift it lol.

Regards

It is the bench top model I was interested in. The fact it is a one man lift is the answer I wanted.

Thx.

I just happen to have a bench top Excel die filer in bits awaiting some TLC

My bathroom scales say 53kg + 16kg for the motor.

So 69Kg. Might be a bit of a struggle one man, but I guess that the top arm and the bed would remove quite easily to reduce weight to pick it up. (and motor if it came to it)

Edit - my earlier post was rubbish. It is sitting just on 9 stone including motor and arm. So if you can lift your girlfriend you can lift this. The over arm and table come off quite easily, and perhaps the motor.

Trouble is I now weighed myself so no donut for elevensies.

Its definitely not light. Two of us picked it up and got it into my van.

It has he overarm for use with saw blades and currently has a thin file clamped in the saw clamp. Runs nice and quietly.

Looks as though I need to make the Roller Arm support bracket. Has anyone got a photograph of the same and or some dimensions.

Need to fit On/Off/NVR switch as currently just has a 13amp plug fitted on motor.

Need to find.make some files.

Does anyone have photographs of the file clamp mechanism in a dismantled state. I would like to see how it works before dismantling it.

Thanks,

Colin
