picked up a cold saw cheap

need to make a base and vice for it

question the blade is running anti clockwise up cutting towards the moving jaw

is this ok to me it should run the other way to push the work into the fixed jaw

thanks Geoff

I was always under the impression that cold saws always run clockwise... down onto the base & into the fixed jaw thinking... learn something new every day!

They tend to cut upwards to pull the machine down onto the work

It's "safer"... unless the work happens to be you

(I don't like machines with teeth)
