Free Plan: Four Jaw Chuck

Free Plan: Four Jaw Chuck

This excellent design is by Bob Loader, who wrote many excellent articles on accessories for Unimat lathes for Model Engineers' Workshop. This chuck is designed to be made on the small lathe, so it has rather unconventional construction. The accompanying details are in issue 11 of Model Engineers' Workshop, June/July 1992, available in the online archive*.

Bob Loader designed many great accessories for the Unimat and hopefully one of these will be included in the 25 years of MEW special this summer.

For now enjoy the latest free plan is an excellent design for a small 4-jaw chuck by Bob.

If you're stuck - for now, copy link location; paste into browser address, change 'A' to 'B'

Done now.

It's not easy putting PDF links into articles, you can't just pick them out of a browser. The best way is to edit an existing one, but if you replace an 'A' with an 'A' you don't get far...

I really do like this design though, I very nearly made one when I got my collection of back issues off my Uncle many moons ago, but of course I already had a 4-jaw.

Excellent. Bringing a Unimat back to life is a project of mine so this could be very useful. Any chance that the page could give the issue number as that's how the archive is organised please?
