Check the gear train The lever on the left must be in the up or down position.

There is a plastic ring that must be removed. Right over the probe.
Thread: Huanyang VFD help please
A resistor in series with the switch would do this, but is quite limiting compared to a potmeter.
Thread: Grafton tools (who?) - rotary table
Don`t know anything about Grafton, but that drill press looks very much like a Atlas.
Maybe some badge engineering?
Thread: Topslide vice for Boxford lathe

Thread: Non standard taps - what are they ?

Made one that hangs over the edge of the top slide.
Thread: Boxford Tailstock Accessories
The Boxford book is very good.
A classic how to book is The amateur`s lathe Link .
You are right , it is a model C made in 1958.
Your lathe has the same rear drive as the original South Bends.
Most later Boxfords had the motor inside the stand, or a under drive UD.

Thread: Hello! young'un from Devon here

Thread: Stevensons original collet blocks & Arc Euro 6" grinder
ER collets have to be snapped into the nut. I did not do this when i first got a mill and was very dissapointed with the chuck`s runout.

Thread: kerry super 8 bench drill
The spring goes into the slot, you wind it up by turning the lid with two hands and secure it with your third hand when it`s thight.
Mine came without a spring. Guess someone took it out to get a replacement and never did.
I ordered a spring on ebay. Works fine.
Don`t remember the size as it is ten years ago.
