You can run a 400v 3 phase motor off a VFD's 240 3 phase output, but set to 29hz. You lose a third of the RPM. The clever electrical people on here will explain better than I, but the idea, which came from this forum, worked for me.

Hello, Ive been online, but nothing about this particular unit. Yes, perhaps it is something to do with pantographs. The chap I bought it from , said his son took 2 TH pantographs down the scrapyard. sad

Hello all, just purchased this Taylor Hobson grinder unit from a friend who didnt really know what it was and neither do I !. Its a (heavy) nicely made bit of kit and presume its for grinding some sort of cutters, so the question is, what would have been its purpose ?. Many thanks.06032015171.jpg

Heres a suggestion, just think of the hundreds of 4 way tool posts that arent used anymore !. So, a section for who can come up with the best adaptation of one for something else, apart from a door stop. Better than throwing them in the scrap.Ive one that has a seperate indexing handle on it that could be perhaps modified for use on a milling machine table !!.
