Thread: CAM software for CNC Lathes - With C axis and constrained live tool
Apologies for any hijack.
Would also be interested to explore PlanetCNC for lathe work. Need to replace a Mach3 2axis lathe setup. My router is on PCNC and I am very happy with it. Anyone tried it from a Raspberry Pi 400 ?
Thread: 0.8 straight wire
Thank you everyone.
Sorted by a very pleasant bunch of people at M-machine-metals. Went for the 1/32" S/S and postage was very reasonable.
Recommend the good service!
Thanks you all . Just to reiterate, I need straight wire. - Straightening roll cut wire does not work in this instance
Having a nightmare trying to source straight 0.8 dia wire. Either it is on backorder or the postage is double the component cost. If you could advise a reliable source gentlemen. I would be most grateful.
Thread: Nozzle Bores
This has morphed into a very useful thread. Thank you.
Thread: What filament material do you use on your 3D printer?
Thread: Chinese CNC Spindles ?
Could you post or re-post a photo of the motor spindle mounted on the X3 please.
Thread: Arduino/Mendel 90
Dave - Have reverted back to Arduino IDE 1.0.4. which Nophead says was his development level.
Still get similar reports :- " ~main. CPP11 undefined reference to `setup` " and " main. CPP14 undefined reference to `loop`"
The sketch I am trying to compile is :- Sketch_april21a
So with the old IDE it still will not compile. But reports :- " ~main. CPP40 undefined reference to `setup` " and " main. CPP40 undefined reference to `loop`"
Dave - Contacted Nophead who is the originator of the machine software. He says the same. That the Arduino IDE is too new. Just downloading an old version which may be better.
Dave - After moving the panel. I tried to compile again and the message has now changed to "Error compiling for board Sanguino W/ ATmega 1284 or ATmega 1284p (16 MHz)
Gentlemen - Returning to this problem after an enforced sidetrack. - Have reloaded my old backup "sketch" .
This will not compile again. Giving the report " :Invalid line format, should be`key=value` "
Any assistance gratefully recieved.
Thread: Seig X3 has died
Do you have a cutout safety guard fitted? I had a similar problem and that was the source. Hope it helps.
Thread: Stand for Dremel type power tool
Thank you Roderick
What is the nose thread please. I am sure I bought a tap set for it, but the project got lost!!!!
Thread: Siemens does not like me...!
Barry - thanks. Just got there and took a simple file to Simplify 3d without a hitch.
Success but ;- My poor old laptop cannot handle the graphics. Fine on a desktop workstation. The nice lady on the tutorials has a voice that could send the most severely inflicted insomniac straight to sleep.
Set aside half a day from start to finish if you have less than an i7 board.
Yet to see if I can export a 3d file to my slicing software??
IanT - Thank you, had not seen the community edition. Downloading now.
This link got me there:- **LINK**
Frances - I too was blocked at first. - Sign in as a business and you go straight to the download.
Keep trying different approaches to get to the download page.
