Thread: Pratt Burnerd PC-15 Collet chuck
I have acquired a PC 15 collet chuck but it needs some TLC. Does anybody have a catologue or spare manual for one
Thread: Craftsman 15f drawings
I have the SAR drawings as I did purchase the complete CD's with all the SAR drawings. I picked up a part build project form a deceased estate, which was build using the Craftman drawings. The drawings were also part of the lot but page 1 & 2 had been laying in his workshop for a while and have be eaten up by rats by the look of it.
I wanted to use the drawings to see what had been done and what is the standard of work done. The lot also included a lot of castings which I am presuming also came from Craftman.
Did anybody find a copy of the Craftman drawings for the 15F. I have a set but the first 2 pages are in such a bad condition that its falling apart and cannot read anything

I like your concept drawing. I have been looking at the Quorn design for a while and there is just to must work. Your design with the linear rails will be quicker and easier. What cad package do you use. I work in Solidworks and i am willing to work on the design with you

Thread: Missing ME And MEW
I am the vice chairman of the Cape Town Society of Model and Experimental Engineers. We were formed in 1907 and have a amazing library which has a original copy of both ME and MEW from there first edition. Every year we take our magazines for the year and have them bound. But somewhere along the road we have lost/not received some issues
We are missing ME no 4466 and 4498 as well as MEW 204, 205 and 210
If there is anybody who could help us get copies to complete our sets, this would be greatly appreciated
Thread: Split axle boxes
I am busy building a LNER B1. I am also making split axle boxes and have used Sellock (spring pins) which seem to to working. They are quite easily fitted and taken out using a dowel punch

Thread: Collets help
I finally bit the bullet and have brought myself a ER40 milling holder but without the collets. So now I need to get some collets which I will get as needed. But I have a question, the collets are available in 1 mm increments, So it your milling cutter shank is 12 mm, do you get a 11-12 mm collets or the 12-13 mm collet.
Thread: Adept No.2 Shaper
Thanks Ian You have given me a lot to think about. I am going to put on a pulley with at least 3 steps so that I can have a selection of speed. The Adept seems to have the same speed for both the forward and back stoke, which is not the same as the bigger machines which do have a quicker back stoke. Yes the length of stoke will affect the speed so I will also have to remember this.
Well this is my latest idea. I have a 8-1 reduction gearbox which I am thinking of connecting between the motor and the shaper. This would reduce a motor with a speed of 1450 rpm to about 180 rpm. It taken 4 turns of the feed shaft to complete 1 stroke on the shaper. This would then give me a speed of 45 strokes per min. Would this be acceptable for mild steel
Hi Guys Was a my model club which is based is Cape Town last night and was given a Adept no2 powered shaper. Its pulleys are missing. Could somebody give me the pulley sizes. It will save a lot of trial and error on my side
