Just a general q how do you get revenue from magzter?
if i read it all or just open the magazine
or just for it being available on the site to all?
I’m not really sure Bandersnatch
theres always a way
I’m was an avid magazine buyer but storage was becoming a problem...i just couldn’t throw them away
anyway things got auto a head and i got rid of all
The late JS had all my classic motorbike mags in the last 6 months of his life..i hope they eased his illness
since discovering Readly and Magzter i can read away without disappearing under mountains of paper
Whilst the full archive isn’t on Magzter i can see issues back to jan 2015
I dont know whether the publishers will thank me but if you subscribe to Magzter you get mew and me and most other magazines within the subscription mine cost me £60 per year
lots of woodwork, photography, men’s interests (and those too)

That stud has rolled threads....spoke thread?
Thread: Inverter failure guidance
I’ve never seen a memory backup battery in any VFD
you can generally set default settings by a parameter
but i would look at your pot wiring first
Does the pulley on the pump get hot too?
Thread: QCTP dilema?
the piston and wedge type are very similar the toolholders are the same
but the piston pushes the toolholders out against the dovetails
the wedge type pulls the holders in towards the block
Another consideration is to do with price as well
how many tool holders do you expect to end up with
i bought the Chinese piston type first (300 size)was quite happy with it but always had niggling doubts about its ridigity and repeatability
so at great expense bought a wedge type from USA ( 300 size not common over here)
and happy with that
ive had a Dixon type which came with my lathe but toolholders so expensive so sold that
and dabbled with a multifix ( the best in my opinion) but holders very expensive so sold that
But all told now i have 50 toolholders all 300 size with various tools attachments in them.
so i would base your needs on the cost of toolholders...

Thread: Desoldering how to?
I saw a desolating iron on amazon
and it works a treat on some sample boards
it leaves fully open holes components come straight out and new ones go easily back in
And only £13
i wish I’d had it yesterday desoldering 20 leds
Thread: Led id
Thanks for all help i have large stocks of leds but none like the ones fitted
But after a job i hate stripped out all 20 uv ones and soldered in 3mm white ones I’m in business with white light
5mm ones wouldn’t go in the shroud so i had to downsize
its off a mantis microscope so should make all the small jobs go better
vision engineering wanted an astronomical price for a white led board
they are in a to18 can but i dont seem to be able to find any white in that can
Can anyone identify these leds and suggest a replacement?
these are uv for a microscope i want to replace with white light
they are in a metal can withthe lens poking out the top
the body measures 4.66 mm and the can has a tag on it
from under the rim of the can to the top of the lens is 7mm
I need 20
Thread: What does diamond turned mean?
I was always under the impression that MPP’s were rather cheaper than the competition and looked down upon by the cognoscenti
having said that i suppose even £75 was a lot in the 50’s and 60’s
having said that I’m quite happy with my models that i own
certainly Basil Skinners book talks about the lack of funds at the factory for development
Thread: Colchester Student mk1 change gears
Certainly on my Colchester student the 21 t is the driver for 4 rows of threads and feeds
the 42 is for 1 row of faster feeds and lower tpi’s
this with a student with a gearbox on as the op’s

But as Micheal G said you can see an iridescence in the top....would you not see that with any other type of cutter?
