Many thanks to all who have responded, there is loads of stuff to follow up on  .It seems i may have raised a little interest and will try to do some serious basic design work time permitting. Mr Howard Jones's  advice re Avtur is v interesting . Once again thanks to all

I am considering using an Armstrong siddley 6hp (600cc) single cylinder stationery engine as a prototype for a model ic  design project. As he scale is yet to be decided i thought it might be a good idea to ask if anyone has made a succesful 4 stroke diesel as i have not seen one discussed or exhibited anywhere. I would expect the fuel to be standard diesel fuel ,bur some rough calculations suggest that ignition additives may be neededany ideas??Mike H
Thread: Ignition coils for small engines

Hi all
Coils available from automotive sources though functional are often too large for model use . I recently owned a renault Megane which had one coil per cylinder built onto the end if the plugs . The primary on these was 12v and the whole assy was quite small . There may be some mileage in modifying these .
