Hello John Weight, good afternoon.

I don't use Office from Microsoft since more than 10 years.
Instead I use LibreOffice which has all office tools I need and is highly compatible with Excel, Word and PowerPoint, at least.
The suite is also available for Mac and Linux and it is free.

Thread: Arduinos and Microcontrollers ref: Rotary Table Mew 249
11/02/2017 02:00:04

Hello, John Swift, good morning.

Thank you very much for your help.
Just as an information element, let me tell you that from the two addresses you showed me, the ebay address sends and invoices from England and the address of Amazon, sends and invoices from Hong Kong.

Hello everyone.

I'm interested in making the controller for the rotary table with the Arduino.
Most components are easy to acquire, for example, in England. However, I did not find in England a source for the driver that would guarantee that the driver will be shipped and invoiced from England, so if I buy from any of the sources I found on the WWW, I run the risk of not knowing the country And the driver is sent to me from China, the customs rights can reach the value of several drivers.
Can someone knowing of a source in England, please, give me the address?

Thread: Slideway protection
05/02/2017 12:42:43

Good morning to all.

After the original protective bellows has disintegrated by the action of the oil, and while not applying new bellows, a small panel cut with scissors from a curtain of chopsticks plays a good role, is easily replaceable and very cheap.
I fastened to the panel, at three points, a wire guide that runs on the slides of the router.
You can see more images in my album.

Thread: Hello everyone from the Algarve
13/11/2016 16:09:42

Hello VCR,
Hello Saxalby

Near Lisbon, on the south bank of the Tagus, and at about 20 km, there is a small company that for several years, but not lately, has supplied me with all the materials I needed. From steels to technical plastics.
The owner of the company, Mr. Carlos Santos, is very helpful and can prepare a lot of metals and / or plastics to order. If you order together the order will be bigger and easier, for him, it will be supplying you.
Among the plastics it markets there is one, the POM, which as far as I know is another denomination for Delrin that I used to build gears.

In contacting the company, if you want, you can refer my name (Dias Costa) as the person who indicated the company and so he will know the style of client that you are.

The website address of the company on the WWW is as follows: http://carlosagsantos.weebly.com/
There you will find the address and telephone numbers for contact and also information about the materials that he commercializes.

Another possibility is the pipe through which the water that is formed inside exhaust to the outside, to be evaporated, to be clogged. It has happened to me.

Thread: Taps and Files
24/10/2016 15:54:03

Hello Clive,

To correct my previous post.

I started my activity in the hobby in the eighties.
I have 5 files of Tomé Feteira manufacturer since then and they still perform well so I continue to use them when I need.
My grandfather, who was a blacksmith, already used files from Tomé Feteira and I still have a file that I "inherited" from him.
When the files were in poor condition my grandfather used to sent them to the manufacturer to restore.

As Michael Cox wrote above, now ArcEuro is stocking them.

Hi Ketan,

MEW arrived today to my home, near Lisbooa, Portugal, today morning.
As usual from Arc a very nice, and this time more comprehensive, catalog I keep almost "religiously".
I feel specially happy to see the Tomé Féteira files in your catalogue.

Thread: WM16 Advice
25/07/2016 01:07:58

Hi Luke,

Luke: Could a belt drive mod bring the noise down to an acceptable level?
DC: Yes I do think so. However I've been expecting some project or kit to modify my milling and till now couldn't find it.

Luke: Do you think that this noise is due to the gearbox or the motor itself?
DC: It's due to the gear box and also to the transmission among the gears and the splines in the milling spindle.

I recomenbd you to see the message from Paul Lousick. If I was buying a milling machine perhaps I would buy an SX2 or SX3 from ArcEuroTrade.

Hello Luke.
Try also Optimum BF20 Vario. It's also similar to the wm-16.
I have one and I think his noise, when cutting steel, makes it not adequate to use in a flat.

If I were you I would prefer a belt drive solution with a brushless motor.

Just my opinion.

Happily the company Tomé Feteira is still alive.
See here ***LINK*** and it's easyer find their files in UK than in Portugal!

Thread: My milling machine Optimum BF20 Vario electronics has problems
19/06/2016 23:50:05

Dear all,

After I bought an electronic board for motor speed control, as has already written, it is that I realized that the main switch showed signs of being severely burned. One of the terminals moved freely.
Having not found on the web a supplier, I decided to buy the button on the distributor in Portugal.
About 30,00after (price for the button) to milling machine BF20 Vario is working apparently well.
Now I have a spare speed controller electronic card which cost me 95,00€.

I thank all the support received.
