They are often in the sale flyer for half price

Thread: Sending of heavy items

We've been metric/imperial for years.

Cars are a prime example!!! Mix of inch and mm on tyres.

Thread: A close shave or why safety glasses are a must
09/04/2019 08:38:00

First thing I do is put my safety specs on.

Nearly lost my eye 12 years ago at work! (long story, 5 operations to save the eye)

I use Hermes for up to 15kg.

Much cheaper and they collect.

Thread: Smoke detectors
24/03/2019 09:51:32

After a shed fire a few years ago, I have two smoke alarms.

Not sure what type they are, but they will go off if have carried away with cutting oil! I take that as the reminder to switch on the extractor!

I've just had a look and they list both sizes. I use them for my silver steel now.

They don't check, but you will need new email address to any used with Autodesk before.

And have to completely remove any software.....

Thread: 3 Jaw self centering ER chuck
20/02/2019 10:45:30

I just used to hold an ER collet chuck in some soft jaws.

I really can't see an advantage to how this is shown.

Hi Mike I live near Market Bosworth, and like you I have interests in engineering currently running tether cars in Europe but for how much longer I don't know but anything fast interests me.

locsl ME club is the North West Leic,s Model Eng Society.

Funnily enough, I'm only a couple of miles away from Bosworth!

Just to say I'l looking forward to the KX1 (but not to making space for it...)

You are not the only one with that problem and the KX3 is bigger!

I did say to Ketan that I may have to stick that old SX2.7 out in the garden under a tarp to get some bench space backdevil

I'll give it a good home wink

Thread: Batch turning small parts to tolerance
23/01/2019 17:10:20

I'd just bore some soft jaws.

Thread: New Products from ARC
12/01/2019 18:04:45

Treated myself to the 160mm self centring 4 jaw and some soft jaws....not sure what I "need" them for....

Thread: Anyone fitted a DRO to Sieg SC4?
12/01/2019 04:33:37

I've still not progressed with this project!

I'm using a modded tyre tread depth gauge on the cross slide and a modded caliper on the saddle.

Every time I revisit this, its the cross slide that stops it!
