Thread: Hydraulic ram machining
In the past I have used a company called Steerforth Hydraulics,(In the UK) who supply cylinder components for self completion, I am sure there is someone in New Zealand who does a similar thing, such as Power Farming Parts Direct, or RAMSPECS in Aukland, thers's plenty to choose from.
Thread: Odd Screw on Boxford Tailstock
I don't have a Boxford, but if it has a lever type lock on the tailstock, (as my Warco has), it could be a stop for the lock lever.
Thread: Hello from Leicester and what have I done wrong
Hello Andy, have a look on Youtube for 'Ade's Workshop'
He has produced a very good video about setting up the gear-train on his
Warco WM190, which i think is very similar to your Chester lathe
He does a very good job of explaining the use of the 'spacers'
sorry forgot to add a link!

Thread: New member in Cumbria
I'm quite near to Vulcans Park.
I also have a Warco lathe, a GH1236. My dad, was a Machine Shop Foreman at Distington Engineering so I used to get loads of advice and tips.
Hello Keith, from another Keith G(ibson), also from Cumbria!
Where abouts, I'm in Workington.
Thread: Heavy Duty Castors
Sorry not to have replied earlier, did you get sorted with some castors?
I needed some a while ago, and got some from Coldene Wheels in Aylesbury
A search on line will find them.
Thread: ARC Euro Trading Great service
I ordered a few milling cutters from ARC, order was placed 11pm on Thursday 22/8/19. Not a big order, but important to me, to progress a job.
Got home from work today at 7pm, and the cutters were waiting for me!
That's less than 24 hours from order to receipt,
Fantastic service, and don't forget the service from the Post Office too.
Usual disclaimers, just an ordinary customer, no connection otherwise.
Thread: Aluminium extrusions
Have you tried CAPALEX in Cumbria.
I have bought from them in the past, but now they refer individuals to one of their stockists, none of which are local!
There is an online catalogue of 'standard sections'
Thread: Steel Machinists Tool Chest
Another place to have a look is SGS Engineering
I've had a tool chest off them, and an engine crane.
Tool chest may not be Snap on standard, but then again, neither is the price!
Thread: new member PHANTOM MAN
HELLO from another ex Phantom phixer!
Also a new model engineer! Just getting my workshop up and running, getting lots of advice from Dad, who spend 46 years as a machine shop foreman, unfortnately he is not in such a good physical condition these days, so advice is as far as his help can go.
My Phantom experience was only 4 years, on FG1's on 43 Squadron at Leuchars.
Joined the RAF in 1974 as an apprentice at Halton, (124th entry), which makes me one of Trenchard's 'brats'.
Left in 1985, now working in the nuclear industry, but not in engineering.
