How do I get hold of an article regarding the above (MEW issue 215) There doesn't seem to be a back issue listed - would the article be available anywhere?

Thread: Interface PCB for the ELS project

Posted by Phil Grant on 03/11/2019 10:16:25:

I just realised that as I bought some of the components for my PCB with a min order quantity I have a few spares.

Would anyone be interested in buying a kit of parts? Either on their own or with a PCB if you've already waiting for the next batch to arrive.

If anyone's interested I'll list what the kit will contain etc. on here.

Can I have a set too please Phil?

I worked with Swiss engineers who always fitted hacksaw blades "backwards" because thats the way they do it there. They swear it works better.

Junior hacksaw blades definitley cos it tensions the frame when cutting - never tried it with biggerindecision

Hi All,

A couple of days ago I was reading a post regarding ER32 chucks and there was a drawing produced by John Stevenson in the thread - I could have sworn I bookmarked it, but now I can't find it!

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks Jasonthumbs up

Hi All,

I want to mill the above along a 4mm section of steel. The smallest cutter I've used so far is a 3mm, but was hand fed for a very short distance at maximum rpm and I was sweating all the way through (didn't break the cutter thoughsecret

The cutter I've got is HSS 2 flute and as I've got a powered x axis, will be using that. Can someone give me a little help on speed/feed/cut please? I've only got the one cutter but I'd like to preserve it as best I can.

My machine is a Warco VMC.

Thread: Warco VMC one shot oiler
07/05/2018 22:17:54

Hi all,

Has anyone upgraded the above oiler on their mill? The nut holding the pump handle pivot fell off today, so I've dismantled it for repair. I've got to make a new gasket but wondered if anyone had 'improved' it at all?

I'm sure that the nuts don't get any oil via this device and started thinking of an article I read recenctly regarding the 'oiling' hardware avaibale from Arc Euro.

Any info. gratefully received - I will be making a non-return valve as the air pocket are riduculousindecision

£45 delivered from Jenkins Steel. That's actually 150mm - don't know how accurate the "six inch" dimension needs to be.

6" was to include a skim - 150mm finished is what I need

Jenkins has sorted me out - many thanks, I went for the next diameter up as it's not bright finish though

Thanks to allteeth 2

The time has come to make a riser for the Z axis on my Warco VMC - Does anyone know of a good place to source a 6" length of 6" diameter mild steel bar cos I don't want to have to get a massive piece that I won't ever use again. I've used the search for various terms and found nothing
