Thread: Motor sounding rough

Sorry to say but it sounds like the start capacitor ot me. Try spinning it up with the belt removed to some speed before you switch on with piece of string around the pully will do it. It should then start and run if everything else is working.

Thread: Indentfication of Induction Motor

It looks like Brook Cromptom to me Is it a runner?

The end plate can be brazed to repair the fixing for the switch easy enough

Thread: Workshop size
12/10/2013 16:13:20

My workshop is 15 X 5 Meters with a 5 X 5 upstair storeage area and guess what... it's not big enough!!

I think that what ever you decide to build will eventually not be big eough if you have the space you will use it all and the more you have the more you want

Thread: Inverter Wiring
12/10/2013 09:59:03

Hay Neil 10 wires?

I have done a quick calculation of the numbers of cables you will need to control your device and come out with 7 asuming you need forward, reverse, jog, and 3 for pot.

even if you incoperate a big red emergency stop you will need a Max of 9

if the other 3 cables are for the motor connection then I cannot stress strongly enough do not do this.

The motor connection must be a seperate dedicated cable.
