retired coachbuilder/businessman i have spent the last 10 years pulling apart ex mod equipment .(very theraputic as you do'nt have to remember how it goes back together)as a result i now have a large collection of small motors gears bearings etc. my workshop has been built and equiped allmost entirley with materials from the local scrap yard. this is not as bad as it sounds as an incredable amount of brand new stock now gets sold for scrap.my current project is a fibre optic clock !!!!!!!
