More about me:

Originally from North East, Hartlepool then moved to Marton, near Middlesbrough, now residing in East Hampshire.

Always had aspirations of joining the medical profession but failed Chemistry and scraped through Biology, but got A in Physics engineering and woodwork so decided a less academic route was the way for me

Served my apprenticeship as an instrument artificer at British Steel Works Redcar/Lackenby gaining an HNC in instrumentation mechanics. Left all that behind and joined the RAF and trained as an electronics and communications engineer, working at various locations around the world on high power HF transmitters, radar and Satellite communications systems. Late in my RAF career I ran a software support team and went back to college to study software engineering.

Left RAF in 1997 and have worked in the IT industry since. specialised in real time control systems and IT security, currently employed in the web hosting industry with a specialisation in virtual computing environments.

Started model engineering in my late 30's bought a Chester Cobra combination machine but very soon realised that my aspirations far outweighed the capabilites of the machine so sold that and bought and sold a few other machines until settling on a Warco GH1330 and an Ajax AJT4 mill. Recently added a smaller second lathe with a view to converting it to CNC.

Current projects include a 4" Ruston Proctor SD and a 3" Fowler B5 fen engine.
