Hi Mickie

If you want to just clear them out quickly, sell them as a job lot.

However, if you want to maximise the money you get, split them into small lots and individual items.

regards David

Your local model engiiring club might help. Some have options to sell at a club show or auction.

Make sure you give enough information. Not so many people are interested in a lucky dip of 10 taps that could be any type or size. Also beware common fault of sorting/storing in boxes. Not many people want 10 half inch spanners then 10 off 1/4 inch etc but resorting into a set might help.

I'm afraid Ebay is the way to go if you want extensive coverage, nothing else compares! What don't you like about it?

I have to agree with Tony Pratt 1, E-bay is your best bet. If you go to an Auction House you will need to set up an account to sell items. If I read you correctly, forgive me if I am wrong, these tools are part of your Brothers Estate, . Do not be lured into the (that must be worth £xx because it cost £xx) second hand tools are only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them, which generally is not very much. Expose them to the largest audience (e-bay) and let the market dictate their value. A local auction is not, in my opinion, the place to get you the best return.

I don't think you should stress about registering and giving details to ebay. This is for your protection as a seller and for everyone elses protection as buyers. Both you and your eventual buyer remain anonymous and ebay / Paypal are there to sort out any problems & disputes that may arise. I've been using the system (only for purchases - but I must sell some stuff soon!) since 2002 and have made over 600 transactions in that time. Only ONE has been unsuccessful ( seller disappeared). I followed the standard Paypal proceedure and received a full refund.

Regards

Norman

Oh yes Mickie

One other observation as an ebay buyer for some ten years. In the early days there were some amazing bargains to be had ( from a buyers point of view that is) with things going really cheaply. I think that now things usually go for about the right price.

Hi Mickie, I also have to agree, eBay is probably the best place. I've been a member of eBay and Amazon for over eight years and have not had a problem, doesn't stop me from shopping where ever I want. Even if you do sign up to eBay or Amazon, your not obliged to make regular purchases or sell things ever week. Just sell what you want to clear and then just not bother with eBay anymore if you wish.

Your pictures are not showing by the way.

Regards Nick.
